Overwintering

This little beauty was a caterpillar late last summer and just became a butterfly this morning. Instead of the usual 7-10 days as a chrysalis, she spent 7 months. I had coffee in the yard and caught her up on what she'd missed, as she dried her wings. I think there's hope for us overwintering types.

She stuck around long enough to have her picture drawn before flying away.
